Well here's a nice little Friday surprise. The Orange picked up a new commitment today for 2011. WR Keenan Hale of the McCallie School in Chattanooga, Tenn has decided to take his talents north to Syracuse.
Hale is 6-foot-3 and 187 pounds. He is from the Atlanta, Ga., area but is a senior at the McCallie School, a Christian boarding school for boys in Chattanooga.
So far this season, Hale has five catches for 102 yards in three games for McCallie, which is 2-1.
Since becoming a starter last season, he has 30 catches and 386 yards and three touchdowns. Hale turned down offers from Samford, Arkansas and Vanderbilt to join the Orange.
According to this profile, his nickname is Stretch. He's also an accomplished basketball player and track athlete so perhaps his new nickname should be ATH. He was rated his area's No. 8-rated college prospect on this year’s Times Free Press Dynamite Dozen.
