The Drexel Dragons are the next team on the list for Syracuse basketball's OOC schedule. They visit the Dome on December 22nd.
The Dragons finished last season 16-16 (11-7) and lost in the first round of the CAA Tournament to end their year. You might know their head coach, Bruiser Flint, who previously coaches at UMass after John Calipari. He's in his 10th year there, which seems way longer than I expected it to be. He's no Jimmy B but he's got a 235-196 record. And he's called Bruiser.
Drexel is one of those programs you'd think we've played more often but this will only be the fourth meeting between us.
The series opened in 1995-96 with Syracuse earning a 69-58 NCAA Tournament triumph. In 2003-04, the Orange won, 74-54. Drexel won the most recent encounter, an 84-79 victory in 2006-07. The two most recent games were contested in the Carrier Dome.
