Syracuse's Wolfpack Grows By One: N.C. State Officially On The Schedule

Back in May, NC State basketball coach Sidney Lowe was telling folks that the Wolfpack and Orange had signed a deal for a home-and-home starting this season. Looks like he wasn't fibbing as Syracuse officially announced the game is set for Saturday, December 4th.

North Carolina State went 20-16 overall last season and reached the second round of the NIT. The Wolfpack will return three starters. Senior forward Tracy Smith averaged 16.5 points and 7.3 rebounds a game last season. Coach Sidney Lowe is 71-62 in four seasons at the helm.

Syracuse leads the all-time series 2-1, though SU needs to avenge the last meeting, an 82-68 upset in the Dome in 2001.

The Orange have created a mini-gauntlet for themselves between November 26th and December 7th in which they'll see Michigan (N), Georgia Tech (probably, N), Cornell (H), NC State (H) and Michigan State (N).  At least, it's a gauntlet compared to Syracuse OOC schedules past.
