Three Idiots on Sports: What Delone Carter Means to the SU Offense
Consider that last year Syracuse running backs had 382 carries from scrimmage. Carter and Bailey had 303 of those, or 79 percent of the work. Mike Jones and Collier combined for 20 carries, which can easily go to whichever player earns the third spot on the depth chart. It's a perfect position to groom a young player for the future.

The Orange Brick Road To Canton | Otto's Army
After Floyd Little’s long-overdue induction and rousing speech, it may be another long wait before Canton turns Orange again.

20. Syracuse | Ranking College Football's Top 50 Teams with Schedule Posters | Bleacher Report
Syracuse’s poster was developed by some of the most creative folks in the business over at Old Hat Creative. The Orange is another program trying to regain its old swagger under Doug Marrone and the poster is good start. Gang tackling usually makes for a good poster image. I also like the little dig at Rutgers (and subtle plea to the Big Ten) that Syracuse is "New York’s College Team."

Our "Uniform Deep Throat" Ineligible : Orange Fizz – Syracuse Recruiting, Sports Rumors, Podcasts, Student Life
Marrone has been different since the day he stepped back on campus. No excuses. All accountability. Even if it has come at the expense of the on-field product. Mike Williams was not coddled. Averin Collier will not play. Life is simple in Marroneville. Even if it means good bye to our Dark Knight of Duds.

The first of many "Mike Williams wasn't the problem, Syracuse was the problem" article this year.

7. Syracuse: Orange are thinking bowl in 2010. Even a five-win season would represent progress.

Chargers Training Camp: Who Are These RBs? - Bolts From The Blue
This season is a bit of an uphill battle for Brinkley. He's behind Mathews and Sproles, and possibly Mason and McNeal, on the depth chart at half-back and hasn't wowed anyone with his running at practice.

Three Idiots on Sports: Separated at Birth?
Syracuse officially unveiled another new uniform design at media day today. Yesterday, the Illinois Fighting Illini had their media day - as you can see, Nike didn't exactly kill themselves trying to give each school a unique look.

The Philly Post: The Most Amazing Turnaround in Philadelphia
Owl fans remember the Big East all too painfully. Not only did Temple struggle mightily there, posting a 14-80 mark in 14 seasons, but the Owls were summarily booted from the confederation. Some blame West Virginia. Others point the finger at Syracuse. And there are even some who believe fellow Big East member Villanova had a hand in it, even though the Wildcats don’t play football in the conference.

Big East Preview: Syracuse Orange
Syracuse is led by second year head man Doug Marrone. His record at Syracuse is 4-8. He was a top coach on the NFL's New Orleans Saints. Marrone left last season, and the Saints won the Super Bowl. Coincidence? No. Marrone is a virus that ruins everything he touches. I kid Cuse fans. Marrone has changed the losing culture of Syracuse football. That's evidenced by the fact Syracuse wasn't picked last in the Big East for the first time since 1928. Marrone is the offensive coordinator this season as well.

The big question for Washington: Can the defense stop anyone? - Jon Wilner, Sporting News Yearbooks - College Football - Sporting News
Whether that success comes in 2010 depends on a defense that ranked near the bottom in every major statistical category last year and lost its two best players in end Daniel Te'o-Nesheim and linebacker Donald Butler. The Huskies are so thin at the end position—Kalani Aldrich and Everrette Thompson are injured; Andru Pulu was suspended following an arrest for assault—that they tried a freshman basketball player who hadn't stepped on the football field in five years.
