Syracuse And Cornell Back In The Dome

The Orange seem intent on scheduling every team that played in last season's Sweet Sixteen.  West Virginia, Northern Iowa and Michigan State are already on the list and now they'll be joined by Cornell, who will visit the Dome on November 30th

The Big Red will have to get used to being the visiting team inside the Dome again.  Last time they were here they got the home-team treatment against Kentucky.  Not so much this time, though you can expect to see a reddish hue in the audience that night.

Despite turning into an Ivy League powerhouse the last few seasons, expectations are muted for this year's squad.  Gone is head coachSteve Donahue has left for Boston College and the team lost a lot of senior leadership and scoring.

The series is one of Syracuse's all-time rivalries, at least in terms of times played. The two have met 117 times and the Orange hold an 86-31 edge.  The second game in the history of Syracuse basketball was a gritty 18-15 victory over Cornell, the first win in school history. The last time the Big Red topped Syracuse...1968.  Though Cornell lost only five games last season, Syracuse was one of them, an 88-73 defeat.
