Kicking Off The Football Season With EA Sports

The second weekend of July is a special one for me.  It signals renewal.  Rebirth.  And re-investing myself in the time-honored tradition of ruining North Texas football.

That's right, EA Sports' NCAA Football 2011 will be released next Tuesday, July 13th, and aside from putting Syracuse directly into the National Title game, there's nothing I like to do more than destroy The University of North Texas' football from within as to ensure that they somehow, some-way, don't end up as a perennial participant in the Fiesta Bowl.  Like they did back when I played the '07 version nightly.

What makes it doubly-good this year is that EA Sports has asked to sponsor a week's worth of posts leading up to the release of NCAA Football 2011 next Tuesday. They weren't interested in telling me what to say (fight the system!), only in sponsoring a series of posts celebrating the die-hard fans of the greatest sport in the world: college football.

So what's to come?  I'll be posting once a day between now and the release of the game next Tuesday, starting in a few minutes with the first of the series: How I Came To Be An Orange Diehard. From there, the series will unfold as follows:

Tuesday: All-Time Favorite Syracuse Team

Wednesday: Tailgating Traditions (including a recipe for homemade salsa, not that store-bought nonsense)

Thursday: All-Time Favorite Orange.

Friday: Most Memorable Moments

Monday: Expectations for the 2010 Season

Tuesday: Christmas in July

EA Sports and I invite you to jump in the comment section of each post. I look forward to hearing all your own stories and traditions related to bleeding orange (as if this lot needs any prodding).

G'Orange!
