Connecticut at Syracuse, Nov. 20: Marrone wasn't too happy when UConn threw a passing touchdown on fourth down with 47 seconds left in last year's 56-31 Huskies win. He and Randy Edsall shared a very brief handshake after the game, and one of the Orange players called the move "classless." I didn't blame Edsall for the decision because of the way the game and his season was going, but I bet Syracuse filed that moment away nonetheless.

Syracuse quickly snaps up Rogers - Columns: Vinnie Pezzimenti | Centre Daily Times - State College, PA
The commitment is the culmination of a recruiting process that started just a few years ago with Rogers simply mailing film to various schools. That’s how Syracuse first saw him.

Summertime And The Living’s . . . Not So Easy | Otto's Army

Ask The Army: Would Upgrading Villanova Help The Big East? | Otto's Army
Rather than further dilute the Big East brand with schools that don’t really give you a lot in return, why not cultivate already established rivalries with a Big East school that just happens to be in the 4th biggest television market?

Syracuse University Athletics - Orange Try To Help U.S. Recapture Gold
To help lead the U.S. back to the gold medal, Team USA head coach Mike Pressler has enlisted the help of some former Orange greats. Four-time All-Americans Mike Leveille ‘08 and Ryan Powell ‘00 were named to the 23-man U.S. roster in November. In addition, Matt Abbott ‘09, a first-team All-American as a senior, and one of the heroes of the 2009 NCAA title game, was picked as one of the squad’s four alternates in May.

Five games to fear in the Big East - Big East Blog - ESPN
Syracuse at Akron, Sept. 4: The Orange lost to Akron two years ago at home and took a while to shake free of the Zips last year in the Carrier Dome. Now they have to go on the road for the opener, which is always a tricky proposition. Ask UConn, which had to struggle past Ohio last year in another opener on MAC turf.

The Daily Athenaeum
No. 7 West Virginia was expected to romp over lowly Syracuse in Morgantown. But that didn’t happen. The Mountaineers were upset by the Orange 36-30. It was the first loss of the season and the first loss at home for WVU since the 2008 season.
