Lurking just above Syracuse and Army on the bracket are Loyola and Cornell. Should Syracuse advance to the Quarterfinals, the Orange will see either of the two at Stony Brook. Syracuse has a bit of a feel for the Big Red having played the Ithaca natives three times in just over a year. Loyola, contrastingly, is a bit more of a wild card for the Orange.

Jeremy Thompson – Scored 23 points (15g, 8a) while being a do-it-all midfielder for the Orange. His 44 ground balls are second on the team, and he has won face-offs at a 58 percent clip. Always a threat to score off the face-off, Thompson is an old-school midfielder who has led Syracuse to 13 wins.

Syracuse: Jim Boeheim loses his two best players (Wesley Johnson and Andy Rautins) but adds two impact recruits (Fab Melo and Dion Waiters) to a core of Kris Joseph, Scoop Jardine, Brandon Triche and Rick Jackson. Thus, the Orange will win a lot of games (though probably not as many as last season).
