Jim Boeheim was finally named Coach of the Year by multiple outlets this year. A fine recognition indeed. But it's not the ultimate. He's still Coach Jim Boeheim, awards or not. There is, however, one honor that Boeheim will be receiving that changes everything about the way we know James Arthur. For at least one day, he will no longer be Coach. He will be The Grand Marshall.
KNEEL BEFORE HIM!
Jimmy B will be the Grand Marshall of the Zippo 200 NASCAR Nationwide Series race at The Glen on Saturday, August 7th. What does being a Grand Marshall entail? Wine? Women? Riches as far as the eye can see? Well...kinda. Mostly it means he gets to say "Gentlemen, start your engines" just before the race starts, but...I'm sure there's going to be wine served...and women present...and some dollars in the immediate area. So...yeah. All of that.
Jimmy can't do this alone though. He needs your help. And your camaraderie.
In addition to his honorary duties, Coach Boeheim will watch the race with a limited number of S.U. hoops fanatics from the confines of one of WGI’s VIP hospitality areas. Tickets for this special package start at $150 and include; weekend reserved seat, upscale food & beverage stations, guided garage tour, race day collectible as well as a chance to rub elbows with one of college basketball’s all-time greats. Fans interested in this once-in-a-lifetime experience should call 888-356-7223 to place their order. All of the proceeds of tickets purchased to this rare opportunity going towards The Jim and Juli Boeheim Foundation.
$150 for all that ain't that shabby. That's like three drinks at Club 44. Small price to pay to meet JB, eat upscale food, drink upscale beverages and walk away with a race day collectible (odds its a miniature car...99.8%). You'd be a fool NOT to do this. Check out Watkins Glen's site for more details.
