Here's the latest polls, both of which have Kansas as the new No. 1.  In the AP Poll, the Orange came in third behind Villanova and received six first-place votes (Dick?  Have you returned?).  In the Coaches Poll, the Orange are No. 4 behind Nova and Kentucky and did not receive any first-place votes.

Syracuse fans have chosen to react in two distinct manners:

WHAT?  THIS IS BULLS***?  WHY IS VILLANOVA STILL AHEAD OF US?  THEY HAVEN'T DONE S***!  LOOK AT OUR RESUME, LOOK AT THEIRS, WHO'S DONE MORE AND PLAYED A TOUGHER SCHEDULE?  I HATE EVERYONE, ESPECIALLY MY FATHER.  I'M  GONNA GO DOWN TO THE LAKE, LISTEN TO PERFECT CIRCLE AND CUT MYSELF!!!

or

WHO GIVES A CRAP?  THE RANKINGS DON'T MATTER.  THE ONLY THING THAT MATTERS IS MARCH.  LET VILLANOVA AND KENTUCKY HAVE IT, SEE IF I CARE.  ANYONE WHO CARES IS A FOOL.  NOW IF YOU'LL EXCUSE ME, I'M GONNA GO DOWN TO THE LAKE, LISTEN TO PINK'S NEW ALBUM, AND CHILL OUT.  I MEAN, DID YOU SEE THE GRAMMYS LAST NIGHT?  WHAT A PERFORMANCE!

That's it.  If you're a Syracuse fan, you fall into one of these two categories.  There is no gray area.

As for me...while I veer towards the Pink fans, I also don't like the idea that some pollsters, especially the coaches, are still too thick-headed to not see SU deserves to be ahead of Nova.  Yeah, it's meaningless and it's just pride f***in' with me...but still, you know?  I demand acknowledgment for my Down Shutters!

The Orange and the Cats both remain one-seeds in Lunardi's brackets as well as SBN's brackets.  The real shame in all of this...if Nova and Cuse do indeed end up as a 1-seed in the NCAA Tournament, their road goes through Syracuse, NY while the Orange will be shipped out to Houston or Salt Lake.  There's still time for all this to go away, of course.

Other big East squads in the rankings include West Virginia (6/6), Georgetown, (7/8) and Pitt (22/21).  That's how good Syracuse is...Georgetown gets crushed by the Orange but actually move up four spaces in the Coaches Poll (Sure the Duke win helped but...seriously?).

A heart congrats to Cornell, who moves into the No. 25 spot in the Coaches Poll.  Looks great for SU as well, who beat the Big Red.  That makes up for the whole North Carolina debacle.

My favorite "The Coaches Poll is a collection of idiots" moment this week...UConn still received six votes. The Huskies are on the bubble along with a few other Big East teams.  (What, no USF?  They're the new conference powerhouse!).
