Head coach Doug Marrone said the two were suspended for violating team rules and will not play in next week’s New Era Pinstripe Bowl game against Kansas State.
Marrone would not comment further on why the two were suspended.
Of course not. The timing is right for this to be an academic suspension but we can't know for sure. Though it should be noted that Lewis seems to have removed his Twitter account.
Since the regular season ended, the Orange have now lost six players, three of which were starters and five of whom were contributors on the defensive side or special teams.
The real bummer is for Lewis, who won't get to play in a bowl game as a senior.
The Pinstripe Bowl needs to get here, like, right now. Every day between us and the game is another day we're liable to lose more players. Ugh.
