The great thing about the start of basketball season is that it means Big East goes from meaning "bottom-feeding conference" to "best conference in all the land."
As if that needed backing up, I present to you this week's AP Poll, which has five Big East teams in its Top Ten. That would be No. 4 UConn, No. 5 Syracuse, No. 6 Pitt, No. 8 Villanova and No. 10 Georgetown.
And that doesn't even include No. 22 Notre Dame. Throw in Louisville and West Virginia, both just outside the Top 25, and no matter where you look in the poll, the Big East has got you covered.
Scott Wolf remains bullish on the Orange (No. 3) while Whitelaw Reid remains dickish (No. 10).
The Coaches Poll does the AP one better and puts five Big East teams in the Top Nine. No. 4 UConn, No. 5 Syracuse, No. 6 Pitt, No. 8 Villanova and No. 9 Georgetown.
The Orange (11-0), UConn (10-0) and Cincinnati (8-0) remain the only unbeaten teams in the conference.
