October 15th is the date of the Minnesota Timberwolves and Detroit Pistons exhibition game inside the Carrier Dome. You already knew that Wes Johnson and Jonny Flynn would be there. What you didn't know is that seemingly every other person to ever wear an SU uniform will be on hand as well to honor Coach Boeheim and sign autographs:
Detroit mayor Dave Bing, the Syracuse legend who went on to a Hall of Fame NBA career spent mostly with the Detroit Pistons, will toss the ceremonial jump ball before the game.
Cordes said at least 20 former SU players will be on hand to help honor Boeheim, who received several national coach of the year awards after guiding the Orange to a 30-5 record and a No. 1 ranking last season.
The list of players includes such legendary names such as Derrick Coleman, Billy Owens, Pearl Washington, John Wallace and Lawrence Moten.
That list also doesn't include Jason Hart, who is expected to be on the T'Wolves roster for that game as well.
Many of the players will be signing autographs before the game so expect to get your money's worth, especially if we hold any future contests on the site that require signed items and/or photos with SU legends.
Now, if only they can get Rony Seikaly to DJ the event...then it'd be perfect.
