Syracuse assistant coach Stan Drayton has been bandied about for months now as a possible choice to fill some coaching holes down south. He's a former Tennessee, Florida and Mississippi State assistant, not to mention the fact that he's a killer recruiter, instrumental in Syracuse's recent influx of Florida commitments. He was an absolute steal for the Orange this season.
So we probably shouldn't be too surprised he's been snatched away by one of the big boys. Donnie Webb reports that Drayton will officially resign tomorrow to take a position with the Florida Gators. Drayton is expected to be the new RB coach for the Gators. Well that sucks.
So the Orange will now need to hire an offensive coordinator (or have Douggers do it), a WR coach and a RB coach. Harrumph.
