Syracuse Only Slides Two Spots In New Polls

Guess the writers and coaches understand that it's really hard for us to beat Pitt at home.  The Orange only dropped two spots in the AP Poll and the Coaches Poll this week to No. 7 in the nation.

The Orange received no first-place votes this week, which means Dick Weiss has moved on.  For the best really.  Dick, we'll meet up again in a few weeks.

Villanova creeps back out ahead of us at No. 6 and West Virginia only drops to No. 8 after losing to No. 4 Purdue.   The top 9 in both polls is exactly the same with Kansas State and Michigan State swapping at the 9/10 spots.

Georgetown (12/12), UConn (13/13) and Pitts (23/UNR) round out the Big East teams in the Top 25.

Joe Lunardi hasn't updated his Bracketology in a while but SportsBlog Nation's resident Brackethesiologist Chris Dobbertean has the Orange at a No. 2 seed for the moment.  Sound about right.

(What was on the ball that had Andy Rautins and Dante Taylor so terrified in that photo?)

Update: Andy Glockner at SI.com has the Orange as a 2-seed as well.
