Of the 65 AP Voters in this week's poll, 63 saw fit to make Syracuse the No. 4 team in all the land. Peaches.
Two voters did not. Fiddlesticks.
Those two voters would be Dan Wolken from Memphis' Commercial Appeal and Kate Hairopoulos from the Dallas Morning News, both of whom ranked the Orange No. 5.
So if Syracuse wasn't the fourth best team in the nation going into this week, before crushing No. 7 Georgetown last night to further drive home that point, who was?
For Kate, it's a little more understandible. Despite the fact that they lost TWICE last week, she only dropped Texas down to No. 4. Seems crazy, sure, but remember she's writing out of Dallas. They've killed for less down there.
As for Dan, he felt that Michigan State deserved it more than the Orange, who have one-loss and the No. 1 RPI in the nation. You know, the Michigan State team that has three-losses. You know, the Michigan State team that lost to Texas (whom he ranks 6th). You know, the Michigan State team that lost to the same North Carolina team that Syracuse beat by double-digits. You know, the Michigan State team that lost to the same Florida team that Syeacuse beat by double-digits.
THAT Michigan State. Glad we've cleared that up.
