Syracuse Remains No. 5 In Polls (No. 1 In Our Hearts)

Not much shake-up at the top of the polls this week.  The Orange remain No. 5 in the nation in both, behind Texas, Kentucky, Kansas and Villanova. Pitt (9/11), West Virginia (11/12), Georgetown (12/14) and UConn (UNR/21) round out the Big East Top 25.

UConn still ranked, Coaches Poll?  Really?

The Orange also continue to get mucho-love from the nation's leading Bracketologists.  Loe Lunardi has the Orange at a 1-seed in the West...bring it Quinnipiac.  SBNation's Chris Dobbertean has SU at the 1-seed as well.

Oh and did I mention Syracuse is No. 2 in the RPI? (And was No. 1 as of yesterday)

And Andy Katz has the Orange among his teams of the week

Gary Parrish and his fauxhawk tried to do everything he could to get on Syracuse fan's shitlist by placing Duke ahead of the Orange on his latest poll.  Duke is currently 7th in the AP Poll as most voters recognize that since Syracuse has less losses and a tougher schedule, they probably deserve to be ranked higher.  We were ready to pounce, until, Parrish goes and praises the Orange, throwing all of our anger into flux.

A handful of key games will ultimately decide the Big East title, and Syracuse won one of those Saturday. The Orange went to West Virginia and left with a 72-71 victory thanks to Brandon Triche's 16 points. It wasn't just a road win, but a road win over one of the league's other powers. I would tell Jim Boeheim to enjoy it, except there's no time for that. Syracuse is at Notre Dame on Monday night.

Damn you, Parrish and your fauxhawk.  Your poll and your thought-process don't jive!
