Back To The Grill Again...The Grill Again

Back from my whirlwind two-city West Coast tour.  First stop was Berkeley.  Great campus.  Didn't have to sign any petitions.  That's a win.  Next up was Vegas, which was...Vegas.  You know what I'm going to say before I say it.  Sadly, didn't have the time to catch Jonny, Paul and the other Cuse folks in town.  Did see Paul Pearce at Lavo one night...does that get me points?  (What points?  And for what?)

The highlight of my weekend though had to be during our drive back to LA from the Bay Area when Eric Church's I Love Your Love The Most came on the radio.  Shocked as you might be, I don't listen to country music often.  So it's always a treat when I do catch it.  I have no idea if this is a new song or ten years old but it was a fantastic listen.  Right off the bat, it spoke to me.

I Love Sleeping In On Saturdays
And I Love College Football Games

Holy crap, that's me!  He's speaking my language!

I Love Not Acting My Age
And A Good Barbecue

Check and check.  My God, have I been missing my true calling?  This might as well be me signing and playing the banjo.

Yes I Love Good Cold Beer

ME TOO!

And Mustard On My Fries

I...well...not my thing but it's cool I guess.

I Love A Good Loud Honky Tonk
That Rocks On Friday Night
And Hell Yes I Love My Truck

You're losing me now.  And I don't own a truck anymore.  I own a Chevy Malibu Classic.  You don't really know me at all, do you Eric?

But I Want You To Know
Honey I Love Your Love The Most

Here's what I, well, love about the pay-off here.  He's not actually saying he loves YOU more than his truck.  He's just saying he loves YOUR LOVE more than his truck.  i.e., sex (let's be honest here).  So basically, honey, if you get a headache or just aren't in the mood, you can be damn sure he'll be back in his truck drinking cold beer and listening to college football on the radio while eating barbecue and fries dipped in mustard.  That's just how it is.

Anyway, I guess the point is...I'm back.  Let's do things.
