2009 Projections: It's not looking good for Lowery.  He's fourth on the nose tackle depth chart behind Arthur Jones, Bud Tribbey and Ollie Haney.

How'd He Get Here: Jarel was force his junior year, registering 50 tackles, six sacks and three forced fumbles.  He was named first-team all-league, all-county and second-team all-area.  His senior year was even better, as he garnered 63 tackles, 9.5 sacks, 12 pass deflections, three forced fumbles and three fumble recoveries.  He was a second-team all-state, first-team Herald News All-Area and All-Passaic selection.  Jarel had a few offers on the table including Maryland, North Carolina and Wake Forest.  In the end he chose Syracuse.  After clearing up some academic issues, he was a part of the team last season.

What did Scout/Rivals Say?:Scout rated Lowery a 2-star DT and the 23rd-best prospect in New JerseyRivals agreed on the two-star rating.

Money Quote: Jarel is a man of few words.  At least publicly.  His nickname is Too Real, for what it's worth.

Links Of Wonder: Here's Jarel doing some laps.  Tsk-tsk.

What Does Marrone Think?: No official word, but a depth chart is worth a thousand words.

Interesting Nugget O'Interest: Jarel attended the same high school as former SU basketball player Darryl Watkins

Let Me Get a Good Look At You:Not much game footage of him as you can imagine. Here's a bunch of vids of Jarel working out at combines and in high school.
