As the NCAA Lacrosse Tournament rolls on, only the familiar survive. Syracuse, has been in 23 of the last 25 Final Fours. Duke has been to 3 of the last 4 and only missed that one because of the sactions against them. Virginia has also been to 3 of the last 4 and is the owner of two national titles in the decade. Finally Cornell returns to the Final Four after missing it last season.
The point is, there's not a lot of fresh faces here and, as has usually been the case, it's that kind of thinking that will win you the NCAA Lacrosse Tournament Pick'm Contest.
2009 NCAA Tournament Pick'm - 2nd Round
Remembering that each 2nd-round win gets you 2 points instead of 1, seven players are still perfect through 2 rounds, including notables such as Brian from Orange44 and Matt from Matt Mc's Sports Fix. Almost everyone near the top has SU and Virginia meeting in the finals so unless one of those teams gets upset, it'l probably going to come down to tie-breakers. However if Cornell can advance, things will be looking up for Ice...man and id Duke can beat SU that gives a serious advantage to Garett1210.
No one in the pick'm has Cornell and Duke meeting in the finals. Just throwing that out there. In fact, only five people overall have Cornell advancing. The deck is stacked.
The Final Four begins at Noon EST on Saturday and the championship will be held on Monday. We'll crown our Pick'm Champion on Tuesday.
