Provo No-Go For Rest Of The Season

Bummer of a birthmark, Hal.  Nick Provo will have season-ending surgery on Wednesday to repair his busted knee.

An MRI confirmed that the knee will require surgery, which will be performed by Dr. Irving Raphael. As a result of the surgery and rehabilitation process, Provo will miss the rest of Syracuse's season.

Provo injured his knee early in the South Florida game.  Provo caught four balls for 55 yards and seemed like a favorable target for Greg Paulus when Provo was in the game this season.  A junior, Nick will be back next season for the Orange.

The loss of Provo exposes a suddenly-suspect unit for the Orange.  Mike Owen remains the top TE on the chart but after that it's a series of wounded tight ends that include Cody Catalina (injury unknown) and Andrew Robinson (hand in cast).  Donnie Webb proposed that Carl Cutler will likely step in to play this weekend since he saw some action there in the Penn State game.
