Does This Mean We Don't Actually Have Wide Recievers Anymore?

The Orange have three passing touchdowns so far this season and they are all courtesy of tight ends (Mike Owns and Nick Provo). SU's leading pass catcher is sophomore Donte Davis with 8 grabs. The purported trio of receivers who were supposed to anchor the passing game, Lavar Lobdell, Bruce Williams and Marcus Sales, have three receptions combined. To say the Syracuse passing game is in shambles would be as big an understatement as saying Mike Williams' cheating fiasco this off-season was a little boo-boo.

Since he doesn't seem to be making much of an impact on the offensive side of the ball, Bruce Williams is apparently returning to his roots. Converted from safety during fall camp to fill the void at receiver, Williams is again practicing with the defense where he will apparently try to reclaim his starting spot. I'd say Williams will be missed on offense...but he's had to have done something while there worth missing for that to be the case. And lord knows we're better off with him helping the defense anyway. They need all the help they can get.
