Kansas Gets First Ride On The Express?

Syracuse beat Kansas to win the 2003 NCAA Basketball National Championship.

That has nothing to do with the following story. It's just a statement of fact.
The Jayhawks took a timeout from training camp on Monday night for a special screening of the soon-to-be-released movie "The Express."
What the F? As far as I can tell the SU football team, you know, the one Ernie Davis played for, hasn't had a chance to see the movie yet. Why the hell does Kansas get a shot before us???
There is a Kansas tie to Davis' story: His first game with Syracuse was against the Jayhawks in 1959. Syracuse won 35-21 but Davis was held to 30 yards on 10 carries.
Oh, okay. That explains it. And by "explains it," I mean isn't an acceptable reason AT ALL.

I demand recompense, Universal Pictures. I want a gala event. I want the Who's Who of Syracuse invited. And I want to ensure that no hardcore Syracuse fan can possibly attend.

Oh, right.

I guess there is a silver lining...Mark Mangino liked it...
"The Express' was both inspiring and educational," said Kansas head football coach Mark Mangino. "It is a movie not just for sports fans, but for everyone. It was outstanding."
I think SOMEONE'S trying to make the poster pullquote.
