Mike Leveille Had A Better Week Than You

SU added the 2008 National Title trophy to the Hall of Champions yesterday, another in a room chocked full of plaques and honors. Hopefully, they left a little room for one more. Mike Leveille was named the 2008 Tewaaraton Trophy winner last night. He beat out Duke's Matt Danowski and Zack Greer, Hopkins' Paul Rabil and Virginia's Ben Rubeor for the "Lacrosse Heisman."
Leveille led the Orange in every major offensive category, including goals (49), assists (34) and points (83). The senior finished his career ninth all-time at Syracuse in goals scored with 132.
The only other SU player to win the award was Mikey Powell ('02, '04), which means that Leveille is better than Gary Gait. Okay, so they didn't start handing out the trophy until 2001, but don't give me your revisionist history. Leveille - 1, Gait - 0. Case closed.

In the span of a week, Leveille scored seven points, including the game winner, against Virginia in the Final Four, wins the National Championship, gets drafted to play lacrosse alongside his brother in Chicago and wins the MVP trophy. What the hell did you do this week???
