You're The Best...Around...Nothing's Ever Gonna Keep You Down...

The SU Women's Lacrosse ended the regular season last night by doing what they've done best all year...winning. Thanks to a 13-2 scoring run to close the first half, the #3 Orange defeated Cornell 19-7. The Orange end the season at 14-2, their best finish ever.

Someone other than Katie Rowan actually led the Orange in scoring, sophomore Christina Dove tallied seven points (five goals, two assists). But of course, Rowan was right there as well, scoring three goals and three assists. With those assists, she gained sole possession of the all-time career assists record. And her third goal tied her own school record for most goals scored (59).

The #1 team in the Big East now becomes the #1 seed in the Big East Tournament, set to begin Friday in South Bend. The Orange will take on 4th seed Rutgers (7-9), whom SU beat 18-6 two weeks ago. If they win, they'll play the winner of #2 Notre Dame (11-6) and #3 Georgetown (10-5). The championship will be played on Sunday.
