Taxicabs of Ithaca, Prepare To Be Marketed Upon

Maybe we didn't conquer NYC the way we wanted to. But you are officially on notice, Ithaca, the rebirth begins with you. The SU men's lax team reclaimed it's spot atop NY State last night with a 15-8 win over #5 Cornell.

Syracuse won its seventh consecutive game behind attackman Kenny Nims career-high seven points (2 goals, 5 assists). Mike Leveille scored five goals and added one assist, extending his consecutive points streak to 49 games, fifth longest all-time. He ties some guy named Gary Gait for that honor.

The fifteen goals scored by SU is the most Cornell has given up in one game all season and the 8 goals scored is their lowest total of the year. A far cry from the 16 they scored last year in a win over the Orange.

The Orange are #1 or #2, depending who you talk to (Coaches say #1, Media say #2) and they will try to maintain that placement this Saturday against 4-5 Rutgers. A win there might be able to give the Orange a body-of-work that launches them back into the #1 spot in the eyes of the media. #1/#2 Duke has their hands full with #3 Virginia on Saturday, the winner of which could also make a fairly strong case.
