A Scene From Saturday's Spring Game

Luna Halo Guy: (singing) Stop, can we start again...And rewind the hands...'Cause they move too fast...I'd do it all again...Just to have you here...To relive the past...
Greg Robinson:
Hold the gosh darn phone a minute here. I don't like what's going on here. I really don't.

LHG: Um, bromeister, you're killing out set.
GR:
Son, I like what you're doing out here. I believe that I do. I want to. But all this talk about reliving the past and rewinding hands...it's just not the kind of want-to I want to get into.

LHG:
Well actually if you really listen to the lyrics, they're about-

GR: Did I listen to the lyrics? Yes I did listen to the lyrics. Was I happy with them? No, I wasn't happy with them. Do I want to hear better lyrics. You're gosh darn right I want to hear better lyrics. Mitch Browning wants to hear better lyrics. The players want to hear better lyrics. They really do.
LHG:
Who's Mitch Browning?

GR:
What else you got in that there song.

LHG: (singing) I don't know how long I can take...Watching you just walk away...From the truth that you have known...To a place you don't belong...
GR:
Who's walking away? I'm not. I'm here to fight. I'm fightin' the fight. I'm a fighter who fights fights. I'm really believe that. And I want to believe it.

LHG: You said you believe it.
GR:
I want to believe it.

LHG: I know, but you said you believe it so you didn't have to then say that you want to believe it after the fact.
GR:
But I really do want to.

LHG:
But I thought you already did?

GR:
I do. I really do.

LHG: Listen, sir, if I could just finish-
GR:
You look good out there.

LHG:
Uh...thanks?

GR:
I like your tenacity. There's a real tenacity to you. And that's good.
LHG: Okay, great.
GR: How long you been playing?
LHG: Fifteen years or so.
GR: You're fifteen years to music. It's time to see what you can do.
LHG: I know, I'm doing it.
GR: I believe that.
LHG: What do you mean, you "believe" it?

GR:
You have to have done good things to get up on that stage and to do good things you have to have competed. You have to be a competitor. And I think you're a competitor.
LHG: I'm just singing, sir.
GR:
I want to see you here next year, okay? You'll come back and be even better. What is better? I don't know. But you'll be it.
Usher: Coach, the team's ready to take the field.
GR: What? Let Browning take them out, I'm gonna hang out a little while longer with Lunar Jello.
LHG: Luna Halo.
GR: I believe that.
