Get Your Axe On

If you find yourself out and about in the greater Syracuse area next week around the times 3-6pm, you'll probably feel a twinge in the air. Something will feel...different. Don't panic, just let it happen. Let the electromagnetic radio waves pass through you and fill you with passionate opinions about SU Sports and Central New York sports-related talk.

Let the Axeman flow through you. And you will be complete.

"On The Block" returns to the radio airwaves on Monday and I suggest you get ready. According to ESPN1260, the new home of Brent Axe,
"Axe is an expert at getting a strong reaction out of sports fans in Central New York." So if you like to minimize your reactions to Central New York-related sports, do not, I repeat, DO NOT, call in. Lest Axe suck those strong reactions from you as the fake grail did to that guy in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade.

I don't wanna hear any excuses. Just cause you don't live in Syracuse doesn't mean you can't listen. Click here to listen live to the station at any time. To add intrigue to the equation, if you don't get a chance to listen on Monday, you'll want to check in on Tuesday for sure. Let's just say there's bound to be an absolutely magical guest on the show. No, not Gallagher.

And in honor of the historic occasion, I may just up the ante and liveblog Axe's first show back. You've been warned.

For those who just can't wait til Monday to get their Brent Axe fill, let it be known that he is also the PA announcer for the Syracuse Chiefs.'s Josh Shear finagled his way into the press box on opening day to get an inside look at the exciting life of a PA announcer. You won't want to miss a second of the riveting action:
