The Battle For Route 90 Resumes

When Albany and Syracuse met last year, one team was #2 in the country and the other was in the midst of a disappointing season. Of course, roles were reversed and it was the struggling Syracuse Orange who pulled off a 17-13 upset of the #2 Great Danes. In 2008, 5-6 Albany will look to return the favor on #2 Syracuse (10-1) tonight at 7pm.

Albany may have the distinction of being "the best 5-6 team in the country." Four of Albany's six losses have been by one goal, they manhandled Princeton 10-2 and after an 0-5 start they've rattled off five wins in their last six games. Still, the Danes have to disappointed on the heels of a 15-3 season that brought them within an OT period of the Final Four.

If it's anything like last season, expect a lot of scoring. Especially since SU's offense has been running on all cylinders lately. Expect to read about Mike Leveille's continued exploits as he looks to extend his consecutive points streak (50 games).

Oh, and Albany has never beaten SU. So there's that too.
