What To Do This Weekend While You Wait For Your NIT Tickets To Arrive

This weekend isn't just about selection shows for Orange fans. There's plenty to do, watch and keep an eye on that doesn't involve Dick Vitale. We hope.

Today

Women's Softball
The College of Charleston Classic
The Orange need only two wins for the program's 200th victory and has four chances to do it this weekend. Sounds easier than it is though as SU is 3-15 on the year so far. Luckily, none of their opponents have very good records either. It's like a softball NIT!

Track & Field
The 2008 Division I NCAA Indoor Championship
Jillian Drouin (high jump, right), Ramon Sosa (60m hurdles) and Sheron Mark (triple jump) are all on hand representing SU in this event which runs through Saturday.

Saturday

Men's Lax
#5 Syracuse at #4 Johns Hopkins, 12 p.m.
Each program has 9 national titles. They are #1 and #2 in all-time tournament wins. Some would put this rivalry on a pedestal as the best in college lacrosse. Even if you don't agree, it's a huge match-up every year and this year especially for the Orange. Looking to prove that they are officially back in the top tier of college lax, the Orange (3-1) played Virginia as close as possible before losing and then came back to defeat Georgetown in overtime in their next game. Hopkins (3-1) is coming off their first loss of the season, a stinger to Hofstra in OT. Neither of these programs wants to be 3-2 come Sunday. Expect another great one and if you have ESPNU, watch it!

Sunday

Women's Lax
#6 Syracuse at #12 Notre Dame, 1 p.m.
The Orange redeemed themselves after a tough loss to Dartmouth by rattling off two backbreaking wins against Binghamton and Hofstra, scoring over 20-points each time. Notre Dame (5-2) ended a recent two-game losing streak by starting a two-game winning streak, beating Cal and Delaware. Two two teams met last year with the Orange winning 16-13.

NCAA Tournament Selection Show, 6:00 p.m.
If you wanted to torture yourself, I suppose.

NIT Selection Show, 9.pm.
If you wanted to torture yourself some more, I suppose.
