Run The Relay For Life

I have a rule. If I'm going to write a serious post then it must still involve some level of human degradation at the hand of baked goods. And so...

You know Otto's Army, the organized student group representing the student section of SU sporting events. You know cancer, the life-destroying class of diseases in which cells grow uncontrollably. One of them is very good and one we would be better off without. Lucky for us, the good one is helping make that a possibility.

The Relay For Life® is this Saturday and if you don't know what that is, let me share with you the words of Otto's Army member Pam Parker:

Relay for Life is a fundraiser for the American Cancer Society where teams of people stay overnight at schools, fairgrounds, or parks and take turns walking or running laps. Each team raises money for the American Cancer Society and tries to keep at least one team member on the track at all times.
The event is a great way to honor cancer survivors, pay tribute to the lives lost to the disease and raise money to help fight it.

So what can you do? Well, you've got two choices.

#1 - You can participate! For $20, you can join Otto's Army in the event and be a part of the festivities.

#2 - You can donate! Whatever amount you can give, big or small, will make a difference. And you'll get serious brownie points with me, which is like getting $50 Schrute Bucks for free!

So what about those degrading baked goods? Glad you asked... A couple weeks ago I featured a video of a young Syracuse lad getting pied in the face because, well, that's what we do around here. Turns out that's Otto Army Prez
Darryl Patterson getting pied for a good cause...to raise money for the event. Enjoy it again, and I'm sure if you wanted to bring your own pie to the event (and a nice donation), you could give Daryl the business yourself.

Seriously though, go donate already!

is also involved with the event and raising money. Spread the love around if you can!)
