The Orange head to the Prudential Center in beautiful Newark for the first time to take on the Seton Hall Pirates tonight. The teams have identical records (17-12, 7-9) but the Orange are still clinging to NCAA Tournament hopes. A loss here ends those thoughts once and for all (assuming Gerry McNamara doesn't suit up for SU in the BET). The game does have BET seeding implications so it's not exactly meaningless for the Pirates.
It was noted weeks ago that the game is sold out and that was before the Orange's dire situation was realized. You can thank the many NYC-area SU grads for that and they should be out in full force tonight. The Hall lost their last game to St. John's and has struggled with DePaul and South Florida recently so the Orange SHOULD be able to get a tough road win. After last week though, SHOULD is a word that sends Orange fans into a cold sweat.
Syracuse 78, Seton Hall 71
(Why yes, that is a little Elvir Ovcina action going on in the photo. You're welcome)
