Last One Sitting 3/3

Every week until the Big East Tournament, TNIAAM is keeping track of who will be the Last Team Sitting. In essence, who will join South Florida, Rutgers and St. John's on the outside looking in when the Big East Tournament ends. Here was last week's standings:

*St. John's (4-10, 10-16)
DePaul (5-9, 10-16) 1.0 GB

Seton Hall
(6-8, 16-11) 2.0 GB

Sure, some might get excited for the upcoming Georgetown-Louisville showdown to determine the #1 seed in the Big East Tournament. But they may not notice an even more exciting race at the other end of the conference. The Last One Sitting race heads into the homestretch in a three-way-tie!

You can thank DePaul mostly as their losses to WVU and Notre Dame pushed them into No Man's Land. With games looming against Cincy and Pitt, things do not look promising for the Blue Demons.

St. Johns helped their own case with a win over Seton Hall on Saturday but it may be too little too late. The Johnnies travel to Notre Dame and then host West Virginia to end the season.

Benefitting the most from DePaul's freefall is Providence who, based on overall records, has popped back into the BET, even if briefly. Of course, that win over Cincy didn't hurt either. Playing for their post-season lives at14-14, the Friars host UConn and Villanova. One win and they're in the BET.

And so, we wait. Three teams, only one of which will have the chance to head to New York and lose on the first day. But who will it be???

Current Last One Sitting Standings:
