After Loss, SU Starts Petition To Make Lacrosse Games Only 32 Minutes Long

Had the game ended at the 32nd minute, the Syracuse women's lacrosse team would have tied three-time defending national champ Northwestern last night. For some arbitrary reason, they continued playing after that and eventually the #1 Wildcats pulled away and won handily 19-7. The Orange went scoreless for almost 22 minutes after tying up the game early in the 2nd half as Northwestern proved they are still head and shoulders above the rest.

Junior Megan Mosenson led the Orange with a career-high three goals, and sophomore Halley Quillinan set a new career best with three assists.

A record 1,696 fans "packed" the Carrier Dome last night. Considering that's about 1,100 more than the last game, it's a pretty solid turnout for this good SU team. Hopefully they keep coming.

By the way, why didn't anyone tell me Gary Gait is coaching in a suit? Is that the norm for women's lax? John Desko always looks like he shopped at the Bill Belichick Big, Tall & Can't Be Bothered Store before each game so that can't be true. Gait's a classy fellow indeed. If this becomes a national trend, how long before Brine introduces The
