While one Syracuse alum was making a name for himself in the NFL this weekend, another capped off an amazing career with the ultimate accomplished, membership in the Hall of Fame. Art Monk, the Syracuse grad and longtime Redskins' receiver, is finally in. What the hell took so long?
The Axeman broke it down last weekend but the fact that Monk wasn't inducted sooner is a travesty. All's well that ends well but the idea that Michael Irvin got in first with similiar stats simple because he was a loudmouth won't sit well for a long time.
Regardless, Monk is in and you can hear from the man himself here. Other notables that made the class include fellow Redskin Darrell Green, Patriots LB Andre Tippett and longtime OT Gary Zimmerman.
