Last One Sitting 2/12

Every week until the Big East Tournament, TNIAAM is keeping track of who will be the Last Team Sitting. In essence, who will join South Florida, Rutgers and St. John's on the outside looking in when the tournament ends. Here was last week's standings:

*Providence
(3-6, 12-9)
Villanova (3-6, 13-7) 0.5 GB
DePaul (4-5, 9-12) 1.0 GB
Cincinnati (5-5, 10-12) 2.0 GB

This week, the whole concept was thrown into flux as St John's managed to catch Providence by beating them (poor, poor Friars). The Johnnies and Friars are both 4-7. But they're not alone. Villanova has decided to make a run of it, their free-fall of a season continuing with a loss to G'town. And so, the standings for Last Team(s) Sitting the Week of 2/11 are:

St. John's
(4-7, 10-12)
---------------------------------
*Providence
(4-7, 13-10)
Villanova (4-7, 14-9) 0.5 GB
DePaul (5-6, 10-13) 1.0 GB
Seton Hall (5-6, 15-9) 1.5 GB

The Friars hang on to the top (bottom?) spot for another week but will they seal their fate this week? Providence is about to run into an immovable force otherwise known as Louisville and Georgetown. St John's may be able to capitalize with a game against Cincy and Villanova. The Wildcats have all week to prepare for the Johnnies so they are out of excuses. We'll have a much clearer picture of who may be the Last Team Sitting this time next week.
