Coaching Rumors O'The Day

Today's rumored next head coach of the Syracuse Orange? Glen Mason. At least according to (via the Daily Orange).

Will former Minnesota coach Glen Mason be on a sideline next season?

Quite possibly. The New Jersey native, once considered a candidate at Rutgers, already is being rumored for possible openings at Syracuse and Arizona. Syracuse could do a lot worse. The Orange need a good recruiter to revive its program.

The D.O. also reports Onondaga High School’s running back Latavius Murray has committed to Central Florida, the current program of possible Syracuse head coach candidate George O'Leary. Could Syracuse get a package deal if O'Leary did jump ship?

Paul Johnson may have punched his ticket to coach North Carolina if the rumors are true that Butch Davis wants out already.

Also in Tom Dienhart's column, Jim Fassel is apparently looking for a head coaching gig again. Could he be a fit for the Orange? We may have to investigate that one further...

Oh, and just in case you were wondering, Greg Robinson is currently #9 on the Coaches Hot Seat rankings.
