Team: Buffalo
Record: 3-4
Last Week: Defeated Toledo 43-33
How Fucked Are We?: Very possibly, and not in the cute "Aw shucks, this might be close but we know we'll win in the end" way. The Bulls have put up the points, scoring 20+ in five of their seven games. They gave Penn State a scare and they're taking care of business in the MAC (2nd only to Miami U in East Division). A loss here HAS TO seal Greg Robinson's fate. There may be some mixed emotions for some Syracuse fans this weekend.
Team: Pittsburgh
Record: 2-4
Last Week: Lost to Navy 45-48
This Week: #23 Cincinnatti (6-1)
How Fucked Are We?: If you can believe it, less than the Buffalo game. The Panthers are certainly capable and have some talent. But then there's the Wannstache. We can win this game.
Team: #2 South Florida
Record: 6-0
Last Week: Defeated UCF 64-12
This Week: Rutgers (4-2)
How Fucked Are We?: So very much. Living in a world where Rutgers is good and South Florida is the #2 team in the country, you realize that anything is truly possible. Except Syracuse winning this game. That is not possible.
Team: UConn
Record: 5-1
Last Week: Lost to Virginia 16-17
This Week: at Louisville (4-3)
How Fucked Are We?: Okay, maybe we are after all. Credit where credit due, UConn did pretty well in defeat to a good team. They couldn't seal the deal and have some issues of their own but our problems make theirs look rather menial. A game with Louisville this week might determine who goes bowling and who stays home.
Team: #23 Cincinnati
Record: 6-1
Last Week: Lost to Louisville 24-28
This Week: at Pittsburgh (2-4)
How Fucked Are We?: Damn you, Bearcats, for ruining my hope of a South Florida-Cincy Battle To The Death. They'll still be alright, but the shine is off. They'll be toying with us though, so yeah...we're fucked.
Your Family Fun Stat of the Week: Syracuse is tied for the worst record of any New York State football team in Division 1-A or 1-AA (or whatever they're called these days). That would be worse than Hofstra (6-0), Buffalo (3-4), Iona (5-2), Colgate (3-2), Army (3-4) and Albany (3-3) and equal to the output of the Marist Red Foxes (1-6). Hooray for New York's College Team! (Thanks Axe)
