I've noted a couple times on here the success that Onondaga Community College has had in recent years in lacrosse. As a refresher, in the last two seasons the Lazers are 33-0 and the two-time defending CC national champion. Nice to finally see an Upstate New York team excel at lacrosse (coughcoughcough).
Syracuse.com's Dave Rahme reported today that the team's star attackman Cody Jamieson, who scored 122 goals and assisted on 115 others for an average of 7.2 points per game in the last two seasons, has been named national junior college male athlete of the year. Rightfully, so. Along with his scoring accolades, he is a two-time first-team All-American and two-time title-game MVP. Did I mention he's coming to Syracuse?
Coach Desko, get that man some tutors!
[OCC men's lacrosse coach Chuck] Wilbur said Jamieson (5-foot-10, 190 pounds) has 18 credits to get during the fall semester before being eligible to transfer to SU, but the coach was confident Jamieson will be wearing orange when preseason camp opens.
"I'm sure there will be an adjustment to new teammates and a new system," Wilbur said, "but once they see what he can do they'll find a way to play him. He still has some work to do, but I don't see that as being a problem. He's been an excellent student here."Coach Desko, get that man some tutors!
