An NCAA Berth Is A Terrible Thing To Waste

Syracuse University announced on Friday that 166 student-athletes have been named Big East Academic All-Stars during the 2006-07 year. These are student-athletes with a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average and who have earned a varsity letter in a Big East sport.

While many sports are represented on the list, I thought we should note that four men's basketball players made it, including Darryl Watkins.
Thanks a lot Darryl. Maybe if you would have spent a little less time in the classroom and a little more time in the gym, we could have been a twelve seed in the NCAA tournament. Was it worth it? Getting your college degree? We lost to St. Johns this year, Darryl. ST. JOHNS! Probably because you were too busy learning "Rhetorical Studies" instead of working on your jumper. Way to prioritize. Jerk.

Oh, congratulations to all the student-athletes. Except Mookie.
