To be fair, the Orange mounted a great comeback, scoring three goals in the final minute. But it was too little too late as the Orange lost to the Greyhounds for the first time in six tries.
The Orange are now 3-4. The three wins coming over three teams the Orange should always beat, Navy, Georgetown and Binghamton. The four losses however include Army and the fellow big boys of lacrosse, teams the Orange need to be competitive with (Virginia, Johns Hopkins and Loyola). It doesn't get any easier as next up for the Orange is Princeton on Saturday.
In the rankings, its a wacky mixture of old school and new school teams. Cornell retained the No. 1 spot for the fourth straight week, Virginia remained No. 2 but Albany moved up to No. 3 after Navy tumbled to No. 7 this week. Duke and Princeton were No. 4 and No. 5. Georgetown, Navy, Loyola, Johns Hopkins and Maryland rounded out the top ten. Loyola's jump to No. 8 came after it beat Syracuse this weekend. The Orange dropped from No. 12 to No. 15, marking their lowest ranking since they were No. 15 on April 3 last year.
