Thanks Rutgers, We Can Always Count On You

No matter how bad things were for Syracuse football, used to be that you could always count on one thing...beating Rutgers. Now that those days are over, its nice to know that SU lacrosse still carries on that tradition. Looking like the Syracuse of old, the Orange cruised to a 22-9 victory over the Scarlet Knights this weekend. The Orange scored 11 straight goals to take a 14-3 halftime lead and never looked back.

With the win, SU improved to 4-6 on the season and everyone seems pretty sure that if they win out, they'll make the tournament. I have to be more than a little skeptical still but we'll know for sure exactly where the Orange stand after their next game against Albany. One of the teams in that game will be undefeated and the other will be fighting for their postseason lives...strangely, not the way you would think.

One major distraction all season long for the Orange has been the off-the-field shenanigans of some of its players. One such player, Pat Perritt, left the team last week citing "an
ongoing medical condition which has recently worsened." If that's true then we wish Pat the best and hope for a speedy recovery. And if that's not true, well, just get your sh*t together man.
