Sure, there are sand beaches in Rony's future, but no relaxing. That's because Seikaly will be participating in the AVP Cuervo Gold Crown Miami Open this weekend. Without any practice or history playing beach volleyball, 6'11" Rony will be teaming up with 6'1" Gaston Macau who "has never had a top-four U.S. finish, and his career earnings are only $9,500, which is the kind of cash you could have found in Seikaly's shirt pocket during his days in the NBA." Sounds like a promising duo.
Macau has high hopes for his partner, who is "By far the tallest ... by about five inches. He is 6-11, it can't be all that bad. I'm just going to try and stay on the court with him." Ooookay. But I'm sure the competitive spirit within Seikaly will carry them to victory, right Rony?
