The Best Day Of The Year

Back when I lived outside New York City, I was blessed by two things. I always had tickets to opening day of the Big East Tournament and somehow Syracuse always seemed to be playing one of the late games so I didn't have to skip out on work.

Although that's not the case this year that's fine. I'll have the TV on and plan on keeping a running diary for the game. Will post shortly following.

Couple quick notes in the interim while you ponder whether today's the day we see the new "system of dress":

A nice interview with Gerry Mac, recalling last year's heroics and talking about his decision to leave $200,000 on the table to play ball in Bakersfield.

Is Texas this year's version of the 2003 Orange?

The honors continue for Demetris Nichols. He was named to the United States Basketball Writers’ Association (USBWA)
All-District II Team. (For those wondering...The USBWA is broken down into nine districts and members vote for a Player of the Year, All-District Team, and a Coach of the Year in each district. Syracuse is part of District II, which includes schools located in New York, New Jersey, Delaware and the District of Columbia.) So now you know.

The
