Im sure you have all seen the video of the metrodome roof collapse by now. Syracuse, a city with more annual snow fall than any other in the nation, has the same sort of roof on The Carrier Dome. The Carrier Dome is offering to help its bubble roof brethren by providing one of its spare panels. The teflon-coated, fiberglass fabric is held up by air pressure and fans inside the dome. During high snowfall events, SU turns the heat up to 160 F in the dome roof air pockets and even pays people to go up top and clear snow.
Little known fact, the Carrier Dome, while named for an air conditioning company, does not have A/C.
