Usually when we talk about MVPs of the 2015 Syracuse Orange football season, we say named like Riley Dixon, Eric Dungey and Ron Thompson. But when it comes to the classroom aspect of excelling for the Orange, there's four unsung heroes who rose above the rest to be named to the All-ACC Academic Team.
Offensive lineman Rob Trudo, offensive lineman Jason Emerich, nose tackle Kayton Samuels and safety Kielan Whitner all rep SU by having earned at least a 3.0 grade-point average for the previous semester and maintaining a 3.0 cumulative average during their academic career.
Trudo earned dual undergraduate degrees in economics and political science and is now pursuing a master's degree in instructional design, development and evaluation. It was also the third time Trudo has earned the honor.
Emerich is a sport management major. Samuels is enrolled in the David B. Falk College of Sport and Human Dynamics and Whitner is enrolled in the Whitman School of Management.
