After a weekend of the Syracuse Orange getting the cold shoulder from big-name recruits, SU managed to land one on Monday. Four-star center Bourama Sidibe announced he’ll be headed to Syracuse.
The 6-foot-11 center from Mali (currently playing in Newark, N.J.) picked the Orange over Oklahoma State and Texas Tech. 247Sports has him listed as a four-star recruit, 89th overall and the best player in New Jersey. The 247 composite rankings have him 153rd overall and fourth in the state — though he’s been a fast riser on top teams’ boards.
Sidibe is the second Syracuse commit in a two-week stretch, joining Oshae Brissett from Ontario. Adding Sidibe is a relief for the SU coaching staff and Orange basketball fans alike after both Quade Green (Kentucky) and Billy Preston (Kansas) went elsewhere. We’re still left with a lot of “now what?” questions at the guard spot, however.

Welcome aboard, Bourama. Looking forward to hearing the ACC Network’s announcers attempting to pronounce your name.
