The Syracuse Orange women's basketball team has been on its foreign tour, competing in Europe before the start of the season. The team has gotten off to an auspicious start on its five-game international tour, going 2-0 through its first two contests.
The Orange women weren't tested in its first European game as the squad, coached by Vonn Read, defeated Vienna 102-29. Although Vienna was outmatched, the Syracuse women had a balanced attack with multiple players getting on the scoreboard. Junior Alexis Peterson led the way with 15 points while the newcomer Jade Phillips scored 13 on the night.
For the second game, the women traveled to Bratislava, Slovakia to defeat Samorin BK 94-69. Brianna Butler led the Orange in scoring in the second game with 19 while knocking down five triples. All of Syracuse's starters scored in double-figures with Cornelia Fondren scoring 18 and Briana Day with 17.
The team has three games remaining on its trip before returning home.
