Three New Offers
The spring is when many new offers go out and this continues to be the case with the Orange staff as with Thursday came three new offers. The first offer went out to 2017 QB Jack Coan out of Long Island. Coan is the starting quarterback of a Sayville High School team that is becoming a forced to be reckoned with. Syracuse is Coan's third offer after Miami and Stony Brook and he is expected to pick up plenty more. The second offer went to 2017 OT Josh Lugg, who is rated four stars by 247Sports and already holds offers from the likes of Wisconsin, Michigan State, and UCLA. The 6-foot-6 288 pound lineman is clearly a highly touted target and Syracuse is definitely reaching for the stars with him. The third and final offer went out to 2016 S Eric Burrell out of Maryland, who is rated four stars by Scout, holds offers from schools like Rutgers, Duke, Wisconsin, and Virginia. While this is a top target, he could be a big target as he and Dwayne Haskins appear to be friends, as they both follow each other on Twitter.
Tre Bryant Discusses Top 5, Syracuse
Tre Bryant is another 2016 RB that Syracuse is recruiting to fit the mold of Ervin Phillips, as they are doing with North Carolina RB Moe Neal. While he didn't mention anything in particular about Syracuse, the St. Louis product has included them in his top 5 along with Missouri, Kansas State, UNLV, and Indiana.
Anthony Brown Decision Update
Early on Friday morning, there were rumblings that 2016 QB target Anthony Brown may announce his commitment today. While he has a top five, it is believed that his decision will come down to Syracuse and Boston College. However, he has since announced that he will visit Virginia Tech next weekend and make his decision afterwards.
