26 out of 29 times it's been put up for grabs, the Kraus-Simmons Trophy has come home to Syracuse. Let's make it 27, shall we?
The No. 4 Syracuse Orange (8-2) host the Hobart Statesmen (7-3) tonight in the 101st meeting between the two lacrosse programs. Ben Williams is scheduled to win his first face-off at 7:00 p.m. and the game can be seen locally on Time Warner Cable SportsChannel.
While a lot has changed in the lacrosse landscape in recent years, Syracuse vs. Hobart remains a constant. The two first played in 1916 and 99 times since. SU leads the all-time series 76-26-2. Hobart won the first game 9-1 and they've been paying for it ever since.
It's also Senior Night for the Orange. The honored seniors include Brenny Daly, Dylan Donahue, Nicky Galasso, Tom Grimm, Mike Iacono, Hakeem Lecky, Peter Macartney, Niko Manning, Mike Messina, Kevin Rice, Henry Schoonmaker, Randy Staats, Chris Swanson, Bobby Tait, Bobby Wardwell and Sean Young.
Jim has a full preview of the game, including news that Henry Schoonmaker will miss the game and that Bobby Wardwell will start in goal. Jim will be live-tweeting during the game as well.
